There is a deserved prestige that a lot of authors receive in society, but not for the reasons none others imagine. Most non-writers assume writers must be smart. The link writing with a certain level of intelligence.

After all, out of every 1000 writers, only 30 finish their book. This means 97 percent of amateur writers never finish their book.

However, to say this is entirely due to intelligence deficit is not entirely true. What really allows writers to thrive is diligence and self-control. it is the ability to show up every single day to work on the same thing, for months.

This is what makes a writer, and it is what it takes to write a book. So, can a normal person write a book?

A normal person, none experienced person, and a non-writer can write a book. Anybody can write a book. The reason for this is that a book is just speech to words. If you have ever told a story about the time someone cut you off on the lane, or when you were school and you tried to ask a girl out, that is all that writing is. Put everything you said to words and you have a book. The only difference is that now you must tell an even longer story, and because you can actually see the words, you get the opportunity to choose the most impactful words, and not use the weakest ones.

That’s all writing is, and it this is all you can do, then you can write a book. However, there is obviously a bit more to writing. How can you develop the patience to work on it for months? How can you finish this work that takes months? That’s what needs technique, admittedly. There are articles on how to be consistent with your writing and how to be insanely productive here, but this one is a summary for writing.

I will give you 12 ways for a person to write a book with no experience. Most of them, you can do in about an hour.

    1. Understand What You Are About To Do

The first thign that you have to do when writing a book is understand exactly waht you are about to do, what it will cost you, and what you will gain when you do it.

Writing a book is as easy as speaking. However, a book can be about 180 000 words. Who can talk that long? And what can you do to make sure that you do not run out fo things to say? Ho can you keep the people you are talking to engaged through out the whole speech?

You keep them engaged with a selection of words, and also with twists in your story. By having a lot of tension, and leaving a lot of things unanswered, creating mystery.

To make sure you do not run out of things, you need to prepare an outline for exactly what you are about to talk about so you have a clear direction. Or you should introduce enough material (characters, and events), that you can speak for that long.

Finally, who can talk that long? You will need to do a lot of sitting down, and a lot of typing. you will need to do a lot of sacrificing, and working when you do not feel like it.

You will also have to think over your words (after finishing your first manuscript), then ponder over your characters, and plot to make sure it is still engaging. That it still keeps people reading.

    2. Affirm You Conviction

The second thing that you should do is affirm your conviction to do all the things that you must do to complete writing a book.

After you have finally come to terms with what needs to be done to complete a book, you should now affirm your conviction to write your book. This means, prove physically that you intend to weather all these before you write.

The way you do this is telling your friends that you are writing a book. Telling your family you are writing a book. Or you can write it down, and past it on a wall in your room.

Look over the list of the things you need to do to write a book. Then, accept that these are the things you will be doing for the next couple of weeks/months.

    3. Understand The Basics Of A Book

The third thing you could do to write a book with no experience is to teach yourself the basics of what a book is composed of. It’s elements are it’s parts.

The elements of a book ar fairly easy to learn. in fact, I willt ell you all of them right now, and you will probably not need another guide.

Firstly, there are two types of books, fiction and non-fiction. Non-fiction are usually educational, or arguementative books. Maybe even self-help books.

Fictional books are what most people imagine when they hear about someone writing a book. They are books that feature 5 key elements; character, setting, POV, theme, and plot.

To understand fiction books 5 elements, just look at comedians stand up comedies. They tend to feature a character, the setting (a pub or something), the POV (the comedian could say “So i am sitting there, then I see my friends faces go.! I turn around, and there I see it”. You see? This is called first Person Perspective).

Then we have the plot, which are the events that happen in the story (the structure of the story). Finally, we have the theme, which is the lesson the comedian learns (“And from that day on, I never asked a lady what her weight was again.”).

    4. Create A Structure For The Book To Follow

The fourth step to writing a book is to create an outline for the book to traverse, which is helpful for a number of reasons.

After you’ve learned the basics of story, you can begin plotting out your story. basically, if you’ve already come up with your story, it would help you to create your character progression, then build your world, and finally, you can then sort your work.

Character progression is the change that the character goes through. Consider the comedian who learned to not ask a girl’s weight.

At first he asked girls for their weight but after the events of the story, he learned to not do that anymore. All characters learn a lesson. if you want a more detailed approach on how to build a character’s progression, don’t hesitate to check this.

After that, you will have to some worldbuilding. This means you have to make the setting. After this, you can start plotting the story that you intend to write.

The plotting of the story is when you wirte out the events that will happen. A great plot not only tells you what will happen in the story, but it also gives you an estimation of when the story can be completed. In addition, it helps motivate you as you write the story.

    5. Create A Writing Space

The fifth step to writing a book with no writing experience is to choose a writing space for you to begin working in.

After you have your plot, it is time to select a place to write. There are a great number of advantages to having a writing space, and as a result, all authors have a writing space.

A writing space allows them to get in the mood to write. It also allows them to enjoy writing, and start seeing it as a therapeutic procedure, and that could be your future to, if you write properly.

To create a writing space, choose your most comfortable place. A place you can sit for hours, and not have a problem.

Some authors sit on the floor, so a chair, and table is not entirely necessary. I just prefer it because It’s good for my back. TO further boost your writing space, you can check this tutorial.

    6. Get Writing Tools

The sixth step to beginning to write your book with no experience is to gather and keep all your writing equipment in a close by place so that it is easier for you.

When you finally have your writing space, and you have your outline, you are ready to begin writing. Meaning you are ready to begin collecting writing tools.

These are fairly simple to find. A laptop, a comfy chair, or laptop, a text book for notes, a pen or paper, and finally, you could buy these things that you will need for self control. Things like a scarf, or mouth wrap.

In addition, you may want to buy a speaker to help keep the sound of your room consistent, which is advised in that writing space article.

    7. Create A Productivity Plan With The Outline

The seventh step to writing a book with no experience is to create a productive game plan that you will implement on a daily basis.

For this one there are 5 main steps you need to be aware of. These are the calamities that take away whatever productivity you could have.

    Poor planning

The first step that could assist you is to create concrete plans for what you will be doing the following day. Going to sleep not know what part you will be writing the next day is guarantee to make sure you do not write as much as you could. Or at all.

    Extreme procrastination

The second thing you need to watch out for is the constant goal post shifting. Deciding to do it tomorrow is not enough. In addition to that, set a time, and set a place where you will write. Choose instruments you will write on.

    Numerous Distractions

Then, you need to find a way of distancing yourself from your distractions. If it is your cellphone, or laptop, place it far away, and sit to write. If you suffer from maladaptive daydreaming, it can only be triggered through physical movement. So hinder your physical movement. Tie yourself down to something. Finally, keep only your writing equipment and speaker on your writing space.

    Lack of Directions

Then, you will have to start creating for yourself concrete step by step plan of how you will achieve your goal. To do this, you need to select your plan from earlier, then cut it to pieces. Then, make a detailed step by step process of how you will go about writing it. maybe you can say you will randomly draft first, then go over it again, and fix the character dialogue, then fix descriptions, then fix actions, and finally, you will fix the grammar and prose.

    Lack of Motivation

Finally, even if you get all these, sometimes you will feel a lack of motivation. To motivate yourself, there are 3 ways. You show yourself what you could gain (what would people say to hear you wrote a book, or how much money could you make selling your book etc), how you could go about writing the book (show tutorials on how to write), and finally, show yourself what would happen if you fail. Your fears. So, before your writing time comes along (which you set at the distraction part), spend an hour just exposing yourself to videos that show these three things.

    8. Create A Writing Plan

The eight step to writing a book with no experience is to write for yourself a writing plan, which has to be rewritten every so often.

You will need to create a plan for how you will go about writing the book.

Will you draft it all out from the outline, then go over it to fix the dialogues, then descriptions, then the words so that they become punchier? Or will you change the order somehow?

Decide on your overall game plan for writing the book. This can also be done in about an hour.

    9. Make Writing Enjoyable

The ninth step to creating a perfect writing routine for none writers is to make your writing as enjoyable as you can.

You should do your writing with something else that is enjoyable. maybe listening to music, ASMR, or eating snacks. This way, you will actively look forward to your writing sessions.

    10. Remind Yourself Of Your Writing

The tenth step to writing a book without experience is to keep constant reminders that you are writing a book.

This means set an alarm for the 5 days you will be writing your book, on the same time you will be writing. In addition, write out your plans on paper, and past the papers on the walls.

    11. Make It Satisfying

The eleventh step is to make each step of the process satisfying.

For this one, go over each plan that you made, and cross it out with a pen when you complete it. i am telling you, there is very few things as satisfying in this entire planet. I swear.

    12. Make It Easy

The last advice to writing a book with no experience is to make sure that you write a low count book, or a book taht will be easier for you to complete.

The last piece of advise probably should have been the first. Make sure each of these steps are very easy for yo to do. When planning, make sure that you only plan on writing a page a day. If that bores you, add more. If that seems tedious, make sure you write a paragraph.

Also, on the nights you have to plan for the following day, make your plans while sitting in bed, and type them on a word document. You could even type them on your phone.

The point is, be lazy. Do this an lazily as you can, until it gets boring, then start increasing the reps.

The important thing here is not quantity of the work that you do, but the quantity of the days you send doing the work, even if it is a sentence a day.

Soon, you will find your body automatically gets up to work, and before you know it, your most boring day will be 6 pages a day.

As soon as we master how to write a book, even with no experience, we will be a leap closer to mastering mastering.
